Good karma or conned?

I remember that last night a woman stopped us on the road because she ran out of gas and locked her purse in her car when she ran to fill gas in a water bottle. She needed £16.99 for a gas pail thing, and we ended up helping her. She was well dressed and offered to give us collateral or pay us back, but we said no. Let's hope this was real.
